Purpose: This study evaluated the differences in amyloid-β (Aβ), tau deposition, and longitudinal tau deposition between subjective cognitive decline (SCD) and objective subtle cognitive difficulties (Obj-SCD).
Methods: Participants from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) cohort (n = 234) and the Huashan cohort (n = 267) included individuals with Obj-SCD, SCD, subjective memory concern (SMC), and healthy controls (HC). General linear models (GLM) were used to compare baseline and longitudinal differences in Aβ and tau among the groups, and to examine the associations between these biomarkers.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by significant impairments in social interaction, often manifested in facial recognition deficits. These deficits hinder individuals with ASD from recognizing facial identities and interpreting emotions, further complicating social communication. This review explores the neural mechanisms underlying these deficits, focusing on both functional anomalies and anatomical differences in key brain regions such as the fusiform gyrus (FG), amygdala, superior temporal sulcus (STS), and prefrontal cortex (PFC).

Cognitive impairment is a core feature of traumatic encephalopathy syndrome (TES), the putative clinical syndrome of chronic traumatic encephalopathy-a neuropathological disease associated with repetitive head impacts (RHI). Careful operationalization of cognitive impairment is essential to improving the diagnostic specificity and accuracy of TES criteria. We compared single- versus two-test criteria for cognitive impairment in their associations with CSF and imaging biomarkers in male former American football players.

In recent years, the increasing life expectancy has underscored the importance of cognitive health alongside physical well-being, particularly because healthy adults may report subjective cognitive complaints (SCC), often related to memory. These complaints may or may not align with objective cognitive impairments, fueling ongoing debates about whether SCC could serve as an early indicator of dementia. While some studies suggest SCC as a potential precursor to dementia, others propose that these complaints may merely co-occur with cognitive decline.

Background: Auditory steady-state response (ASSR) abnormalities in the 40-Hz (gamma band) frequency have been observed in schizophrenia and rodent studies of N-methyl D-aspartate glutamate receptor (NMDAR) hypofunction. However, the extent to which 40-Hz ASSR abnormalities in schizophrenia resemble deficits in 40-Hz ASSR induced by acute administration of ketamine, an NMDAR antagonist, is not yet known.
Methods: To address this knowledge gap, we conducted parallel EEG studies: a crossover, placebo-controlled ketamine drug challenge study in healthy subjects (Study 1) and a comparison of patients with schizophrenia and healthy controls subjects (Study 2).
