In their article, Qaseem and colleagues reported how the American College of Physicians responded to the urgent need for guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic by producing living, rapid practice points. The editorialists discuss the challenges of developing high-quality, up-to-date evidence-based recommendations and how rapid and living reviews and guidelines are important additions to the tools we have available to translate research evidence into improved health outcomes.

Data from large-scale, randomized, controlled trials demonstrate that contemporary treatments for heart failure (HF) can substantially improve morbidity and mortality. Despite this, observed outcomes for patients living with HF are poor, and they have not improved over time. The are many potential reasons for this important problem, but inadequate use of optimal medical therapy for patients with HF, an important component of guideline-directed medical therapy, in routine practice is a principal and modifiable contributor.

, an edible seaweed, plays a crucial role in our daily lives by providing essential nutrients, including minerals, to the human body. The detection of mineral content during different growth stages of benefits the goals of ensuring product quality, meeting diverse consumer needs, and achieving quality classification. Currently, the determination of minerals in primarily relies on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and other methods, which are time-consuming and labor-intensive.

Chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) is a selective autophagic pathway responsible for degrading cytoplasmic proteins within lysosomes. Monitoring CMA flux is essential for understanding its functions and molecular mechanisms but remains technically complex and challenging. In this study, we developed a pH-resistant probe, KFERQ-Gamillus, by screening various green fluorescent proteins.

Chronic wounds present a major healthcare challenge around the world, and significant hurdles remain in their effective treatment due to limitations in accessible treatment options. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) with multifunctional differentiation and modulatory properties have been delivered to chronic wounds to enhance closure but have limited engraftment when delivered without a scaffold. In this study, hybrid porous hydrogel foams composed of modified polyvinyl alcohol and gelatin were developed that are suitable for rapid and facile MSC encapsulation, fully degradable, and supportive of wound healing.
