It is caused by four distinct but closely related Dengue viruses (DENV-1, -2, -3, and - 4) transmitted through bites of infected Aedes species mosquito vectors. In the last 50 years, incidence has increased 30-fold with increasing geographic expansion to new countries.

Malaria, a mosquito-borne disease caused by five plasmodium species, still has a life-threatening risk worldwide. Clinical manifestations can range from mild nonspecific symptoms to severe disease. In non-endemic regions, sporadic cases frequently pose significant challenges to health workers as delayed diagnosis can lead to serious consequences and even death.

This case report details the public health response to a multibacillary leprosy case in Ireland. The case presented with hypopigmented skin lesions and neurological symptoms. Challenges included delayed recognition in the clinical setting, contact tracing within a congregate setting and lack of specific Irish guidelines.

Background: Opisthorchis felineus is a feline pathogen with zoonotic potential that can be a causative agent of human opisthorchiasis and cholangiocarcinoma. In Europe, O. felineus is particularly endemic in Eastern European countries, while this parasite has also been sporadically detected in Germany, Italy and northern Poland.

Background: Yunnan Province, located in the southwestern part of China and neighboring endemic dengue regions of Southeast Asia, has experienced annual autochthonous outbreaks of dengue fever from 2013 to 2023. This study examines the epidemiological and spatiotemporal clustering characteristics of dengue within the province.
Methods: Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyse outbreak characteristics.
