Crying in infancy is an important emotional signal that elicits care from adults, and women are often assumed to be more sensitive and reactive to infant crying than men. In a series of studies, we tested whether preparenthood gender differences in sensitivity to infant cries are a potential driver of the unequal share of early parenting. In Study 1, we tested for differences in men and women's awakening to infant crying and alarms among nonparents in an overnight experiment ( = 142).

The coronary artery calcium score (CACS) is an essential biomarker used to assess the presence and severity of coronary artery disease (CAD). Nocturnal and crepuscular fast-eyed insects often exploit multiple optical channels and temporal summation for fast and low-light imaging. Here, we report high-speed and high-sensitive microlens array camera (HS-MAC), inspired by multiple optical channels and temporal summation for insect vision. HS-MAC features cross-talk-free offset microlens arrays on a single rolling shutter CMOS image sensor and performs high-speed and high-sensitivity imaging by using channel fragmentation, temporal summation, and compressive frame reconstruction.

Compared to the available technology abroad, Bangladesh has insufficient monitoring of water vessels to tackle any possible disaster, such as vessel collisions for inland water transportation. One of the frequent outcomes of this architecture is regular capsizing, which sometimes leads to loss of lives.
