As we move toward an era in which there will be treatment options for geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to age-related macular degeneration, the need to accurately understand and interpret multimodal imaging (MMI) for the condition is paramount. This review discusses the evolution of MMI in GA and how it has led to a greater understanding of different phenotypes and risk factors for progression. These advancements have allowed novel imaging biomarkers to be used as end points in large interventional studies exploring new therapies for GA treatment.

Following the commodity risk assessment of and plants for planting from Türkiye, in which (Hemiptera: Diaspididae), the pistachio oyster scale or yellow pistachio scale, was identified as a pest of possible concern, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation for the territory of the European Union (EU). is reported as a polyphagous pest which, however, mainly affects plants of the genus Originating from Asia, it is widely distributed in pistachio producing countries of Central, South and West Asia. Within the EU, the pest has been reported from Cyprus and Greece.

Research on the consequences of residential mobility for educational outcomes is inconclusive about when and for whom moving is detrimental or beneficial. Whether moving during childhood impacts educational attainment depends on how often, how far and at which age one moves; and on whether the neighbourhood conditions improve or decline with the move. This study aims to better understand under which circumstances moving during childhood impacts educational attainment by studying residential mobility and neighbourhood trajectories of children born in different types of neighbourhoods and how this is associated with completion of tertiary education.
