Objectives: Delayed diagnosis of patients with Fever of Unknown Origin has long been a daunting clinical challenge. Onco-mNGS, which can accurately diagnose infectious agents and identify suspected tumor signatures by analyzing host chromosome copy number changes, has been widely used to assist identifying complex etiologies. However, the application of Onco-mNGS to improve FUO etiological screening has never been studied before.

The incidence of urinary tract infection (UTI) caused by extensive beta-lactamase-producing Escherichia coli (ESBL-EC) is increasing, including in children. However, the available oral antibiotic treatment options for ESBL-EC are limited. Herein, we report the cases of two children diagnosed with UTI caused by ESBL-EC (ESBL-UTI) who were switched from empirical intravenous antibiotics in UTI to amoxicillin-clavulanic acid (AMPC/CVA) (14:1) after the causative organism was found to be ESBL-EC.

Purpose: We describe a rare complication of macular hole formation in rickettsia post-fever retinitis.
Patients And Methods: Retrospective observational case report of a patient who presented with post-fever retinitis and cystoid macular edema that later progressed to a macular hole. Clinical record and multimodal imaging including fundus photography, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) were analyzed.
