. The chair is a standard piece of workstation equipment in an office. Previous studies showed that a suitable chair may reduce musculoskeletal symptoms. This review investigated the effect of chair intervention on lower back pain (LBP), discomfort and trunk muscle activation among office workers. . Five electronic databases from 1980 to May 2020 were searched for relevant randomized and non-randomized controlled trials. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the 13-item Cochrane risk of bias tool. Quality of evidence was assessed and rated according to Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations (GRADE) guidelines. . Two randomized controlled trials, 10 repeated-measures studies and two prospective cohort studies were included in this review. Nine studies were rated as high quality. The results indicated very low-quality to low-quality evidence for the conflicting effect of chair intervention on pain and discomfort reduction as well as trunk muscle activation among office workers. When stratified by chair type, the level of evidence for health benefits derived from any type of chair was still of very low to low quality. . Unless supplementary high-quality studies provide different evidence, chair interventions are not recommended to reduce LBP or discomfort and activate trunk muscles.

Metabolomics data analysis includes, next to the preprocessing, several additional repetitive tasks that can however be heavily dataset dependent or experiment setup specific due to the vast heterogeneity in instrumentation, protocols, or also compounds/samples that are being measured. To address this, various toolboxes and software packages in Python or R have been and are being developed providing researchers and analysts with bioinformatic/chemoinformatic tools to create their own workflows tailored toward their specific needs. This chapter presents tools and example workflows for common tasks focusing on the functionality provided by R packages developed as part of the RforMassSpectrometry initiative.

Purpose: In heart failure (HF) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) populations, sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is associated with impaired health outcomes. We evaluated whether in patients with HF, concomitant HF and COPD or COPD, the number of hospitalizations would be reduced in the year after testing for SDB with and without treatment initiation compared to the year before.
Methods: We performed a multicentre retrospective study of 390 consecutive sleep-clinic patients who had a primary diagnosis of chronic HF, HF and COPD or COPD and a secondary diagnosis of SDB.

Introduction: Rhizarthrosis, or osteoarthritis of the trapeziometacarpal joint, predominantly affects women over 50, with up to 30% experiencing some degree of arthritis in this joint. Traditional surgical approaches, such as trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction, can result in some patients in persistent pain or limited functionality. TMC ball-in-socket arthroplasty, with a cup placed in the distal scaphoid, offers a promising alternative to traditional arthrodesis or resection-suspension arthroplasty.

Background: The presented study identified the appropriate ocrelizumab dosing regimen for patients with pediatric-onset multiple sclerosis (POMS).
Methods: Patients with POMS aged 10-17 years were enrolled into cohort 1 (body weight [BW] < 40 kg, ocrelizumab 300 mg) and cohort 2 (BW ≥ 40 kg, ocrelizumab 600 mg) during a 24-week dose-exploration period (DEP), followed by an optional ocrelizumab (given every 24 weeks) extension period.
Primary Endpoints: pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics (CD19 B-cell count); secondary endpoint: safety; exploratory endpoints: MRI activity, protocol-defined relapses, Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) score change.
