Background: The Apoptosis-Stimulating Protein of P53 (ASPP) family contributes to apoptosis regulation and tumor suppression, with ASPP1 influencing processes like cancer cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. Its expression varies across cancer types, suggesting a potential role in oncogenesis.
Methods: This study investigates ASPP1's role across various cancers using a comprehensive bioinformatics approach.

Pharmacist independent prescriber numbers continue to increase. In 2025/2026, independent prescribing will be integrated into the foundation year of pharmacy training, which will see a surge of pharmacists with the independent prescribing annotation on the General Pharmaceutical Council register. With increased responsibility and expectation from early careers pharmacists, the risk of burnout may be higher, and we could potentially see an increase in the number of individuals leaving the profession.

Ovarian cancer is a common and lethal malignancy among women, whereas chemoresistance is one of the major challenges to its treatment and prognosis. Chemoresistance is a multifactorial phenomenon, involving various mechanisms that collectively modify the cell's response to treatment. Among the changes that arise in cells after acquiring chemoresistance is miRNA dysregulation.

Efficient and safe carriers of genetic material are crucial for advancing gene therapy. Three new series of cationic dendritic nanocarriers based on a carbosilane scaffold, differentiated by peripheral modifications: saccharide (CS-glyco), amine (CS-N), and phosphonium dendrimers (CS-P) were designed for binding, protecting, and releasing polyanionic compounds like therapeutic siRNA. Besides introducing synthetic methodology, this study brings a unique direct interstructural comparison of 16 dendritic nanovector's characteristics, addressing a gap in typical research that focuses on uniform structural types.

Current antiviral therapy for the chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) has a low clinical cure rate, high administration frequency, and limited efficacy in reducing HBsAg levels, leading to poor patient compliance. Novel agents are required to achieve HBV functional cure, and reduction of HBV antigenemia may enhance the activation of effective and long-lasting host immune control. HT-101 is a siRNA currently in phase I clinical trials with promising prospects for future applications.
