Cyclic polymers possess distinct properties compared with their linear counterparts, such as smaller hydrodynamic volume, lower viscosity, and higher glass-transition temperature, etc. To explore the impact of the cyclic topology on the thermo-induced phase transition behavior of poly(N-acryloylsarcosine methyl ester) (PNASME), the anthracene-terminated telechelic PNASMEs are synthesized by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of monomer NASME using a bifunctional chain transfer agent (CTA) with two anthryl groups. Subsequently, cyclic PNASMEs are prepared via UV-induced cyclization under 365 nm UV. There are considerable increases (up to 50 °C) for the cloud point temperatures (T s) of cyclic PNASMEs compared with the linear counterparts. In view of the increment, the T of PNASME is tuned by varying the cyclic/linear ratio (the molar ratio between cyclic PNASME and linear PNASME in the product) with different irradiation time.

Anaerobic digestion is a crucial process in wastewater treatment, renowned for its sustainable biogas production capabilities and the simultaneous reduction of environmental pollution. However, dysregulation of vital biological processes and pathways can lead to reduced efficiency and suboptimal biogas output, which can be seen through low counts per million of sequences related to three critical control points for methane synthesis. Namely, tetrahydromethanopterin S-methyltransferase (MTR), methyl-coenzyme reductase M (MCR), and CoB/CoM heterodisulfide oxidoreductase (HDR) are the last reactions that must occur.

Accurate 3D point cloud object detection is crucially important for autonomous driving vehicles. The sparsity of point clouds in 3D scenes, especially for smaller targets like pedestrians and bicycles that contain fewer points, makes detection particularly challenging. To solve this problem, we propose a single-stage voxel-based 3D object detection method, namely PFENet.

Background: Phaeodactylum tricornutum is a versatile marine microalga renowned for its high-value metabolite production, including omega-3 fatty acids and fucoxanthin, with emerging potential for integrated biorefinery approaches that encompass biofuel and bioproduct generation. Therefore, in this study we aimed to optimize the cultivation conditions for boosting biomass, lipid, and fucoxanthin production in P. tricornutum, focusing on the impacts of different nutrient ratios (nitrogen, phosphorus, silicate), glycerol supplementation, and light regimes.

Mining electric shovels are one of the core equipments for open-pit mining, and are currently moving towards intelligent and unmanned transformation, with intelligent mining instead of traditional manual operation. In the excavation operation process, due to the complexity and changeability of the material surfaces, different excavation strategies should be adopted to achieve the optimal excavation trajectory. It is an important research direction to realize the unmanned excavation of electric shovels by studying a trajectory planning method that is not limited to fixed resting angle surface, can comprehensively consider the type of material surfaces and aim at the minimum excavation energy consumption per unit volume.

Background And Purpose: We report short- and intermediate-term effects on headaches with intra-arterial injection of lidocaine in the middle meningeal artery in patients with severe headaches associated with subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Methods: We treated seven patients with intra-arterial lidocaine in doses up to 50 mg in each middle meningeal artery via a microcatheter bilaterally (except in one patient). We recorded the maximum intensity of headache (graded by 11-point numeric rating scale) prior to procedure and every day for the next 10 days or discharge, whichever came first.
