Research has increasingly focused on the intersection between gender diversity and autism. To better understand this literature, this scoping review systematically searched five databases for peer-reviewed literature on gender diversity and autism published between 2018 and 2023. Included studies ( = 84) were of English language, featured original qualitative or quantitative findings, and examined a psychosocial connection between autism and gender spectra variables.

In the last issue of this journal, Ben Harris authored a research note on Margaret Floy Washburn and her cats (see record 2023-67784-001). What was not included with that piece was an image Washburn's bookplate, which shows an image of a cat (quite possibly a likeness of her most acclaimed cat, "Hiram") with an accompanying Biblical verse in Greek, taken from 1 Thessalonians 5:21, which translated reads as "Test all things; hold fast what is good (NKJV)." It is reproduced in this article.

Although people often value the challenge and mastery of performing an activity, their satisfaction may suffer when the tasks comprising the activity are perceived as difficult. Thus, it is important to understand the factors that influence subjective judgments of difficulty. In this research, we introduce an easily actionable and effective tactic to reduce perceptions of the overall difficulty of an activity: We find that concluding a sequence of difficult tasks with a few easy tasks can decrease perceived difficulty of the aggregate activity.
