Methods: A quasi-experimental study was carried out in pediatric patients undergoing pilonidal sinus surgery at a single institution from 2019 to 2022.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the effectiveness of endoscopic treatment for pilonidal sinus disease over short and long-term periods, focusing on healing, complications, recurrence, and patient satisfaction.
  • Most patients were young males, with a high success rate, as 89.6% achieved complete wound healing and only 10.4% experienced recurrence after the procedure.
  • The treatment resulted in minimal recovery time (average 2.5 days off work) and high patient satisfaction, making it a promising minimally invasive option for this condition.
