Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, fatal, and transmissible neurodegenerative disorder caused by prion proteins. Handling specimens from individuals with suspected or confirmed cases presents a safety challenge to hospital workers including clinical laboratory staff. As no national guidelines exist, the clinical pathology laboratory must establish protocols for handling these specimens to ensure sufficient protective measures.

Background/objectives: Despite the introduction of innovative therapeutics, lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer-related death. For this reason, lung cancer still requires deep characterization to identify cellular and molecular targets that can be used to develop novel therapeutic strategies. Three-dimensional cellular models, including patient-derived organoids (PDOs), represent useful tools to study lung cancer biology and may be employed in the future as predictive tools in therapeutic decisions.

Unlabelled: Introduction-Aim: Adopting a lifestyle that incorporates regular physical activity confers substantial benefits to both physical and mental health and is recommended for prediabetic individuals. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of activity tracking apps on increasing physical activity and its effect on glycemic control in people with prediabetes.
Materials And Methods: This pilot study included 37 participants, 18 in the prediabetic group and 19 in the normoglycemic group matched for age and gender (mean age 53 years, 40% males).

This scoping review aims to understand the cell-based meat production process, including the regulations, potential hazards, and critical points of this production. This review includes studies on cultured meat production processes, health hazards, and regulatory guidelines, excluding those without hazard analysis, incomplete texts, or studies published before 2013. The search was performed in eight electronic databases (MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, LILACS, and Google Scholar) using MeSH terms and adaptations for each database.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the development of greener alternatives to traditional reagents used in carbon-carbon coupling reactions, particularly in response to environmental concerns. The commonly used aryl halides, despite being highly reactive in the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling (SMC), pose significant environmental risks. As a result, research has shifted towards exploring the use of phenols, which are widely accessible and environmentally benign.
