Bees are fundamental insects in agroecosystems, mainly due to pollination. However, its decline has been observed in recent years, and the contamination by pesticides is suspected to be responsible. This relationship is the objective of our research, which is the first scientometric study on this subject. The data were obtained from the Web of Science database (1231) and were analyzed using Microsoft Office Excel and CiteSpace. The results point to a significant increase in pesticide and bee reseach in the last 15 years in the most influential scientific journals. The USA and France have the largest number of publications and a moderade relationship between this trait and GDP (gross domestic product) was observed (r = 0.80; r = 0.60). There is no correlation between the use of pesticides and studies of the effects on pollinators and the use of pesticides and the countries' GDP. In general, studies have shown the negative effects of the contamination by pesticides on bees; however, most publications are with bees of the Apis genus, and therefore it is necessary to explore the action of pesticides on bumble bees and wild bees, as well furthur as studies are needed regarding the sublethal effects of these products on bees as the number of molecules used in the management of agricultural crops is vast.

Associations of pesticide residue exposure from fruit and vegetable intake with ovarian reserve.

Electronic address:

Background: We previously reported that the intake of fruits and vegetables (FV) known to have high pesticide contamination in the US food supply is related to lower sperm counts. Whether the same is true for ovarian reserve is unknown.

Methods: Participants were 633 females, 21-45 years, presenting to an academic fertility center.

Organophosphate pesticides can cause long-term neurological damage to humans. There is an urgent need to develop a more sensitive and efficient method for detecting trace amounts of organophosphorus pesticides in orange juice, particularly in the presence of interfering substances. This study developed a dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) method using amorphous UiO-66 (aUiO-66) as an adsorbent for the detection of four organophosphate pesticides (fenthion, profenofos, fensulfothion, and chlorpyrifos) in orange juice.

Background: Increasing evidence supports an association of endocrine-disrupting chemical (EDC) exposures with adverse biological effects in humans and wildlife. Recent studies reveal that health consequences of environmental exposures may persist or emerge across generations. This creates a dual conundrum: that we are exposed to contemporary environmental chemicals overlaid upon the inheritance of our ancestors' exposure profiles.

Covalent organic frameworks hybridized polymeric high internal phase emulsions with amphiphilicity for extraction of trace bisamide insecticides in food samples.

Polymeric high internal phase emulsions decorated with covalent organic frameworks (polyHIPEs-COFs) were synthesized and used as the sorbent for cyantraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole. Pickering high internal phase emulsions stabilized by covalent organic frameworks solid particles and liquid surfactants (Span80 and polyvinylpyrrolidone) endow the composites with open-cell structures and superwettability. The amphiphilicity and open-cell structures enable rapid adsorption and desorption for cyantraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole, and the solid-phase extraction process can be completed in 5 min.

Warfarin is the most widely used oral anticoagulant in clinical practice. The cytochrome P450 2C9 (CYP2C9), vitamin K epoxide reductase complex 1 (VKORC1), and cytochrome P450 4F2 (CYP4F2) genotypes are associated with warfarin dose requirements in China. Accurate genotyping is vital for obtaining reliable genotype-guided warfarin dosing information.
