Spermatic cord sarcomas (SCS) are a group of mesenchymal tumors whose rarity and anatomical location often lead to clinical misdiagnosis such as inguinal hernia, testicular tumor, or other conditions. Any inguinoscrotal mass with suspicious characteristics should prompt clinicians to perform imaging assessments (such as ultrasound or, in uncertain cases, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) and refer the patient promptly to a specialized center. Histological characterization of all suspicious masses via percutaneous biopsy is recommended, with staging completed through computed tomography (CT) scan for confirmed cases.

Background: The incidence of enteral feeding intolerance (ENFI) in the early postoperative period is high in patients after gastric cancer resection due to the characteristics of surgical traumatic stress and changes in the physiological structure of the digestive tract, and the current evaluation of ENFI after gastric cancer resection mostly depends on the symptoms and complaints of patients after gastric cancer resection, which is lagging and subjective. Early accurate and objective prediction of the risk of early ENFI after gastric cancer resection is critical to guide clinical enteral nutrition practice.

Materials And Methods: This study included 470 patients who underwent radical gastric cancer surgery at the Division of Gastric Surgery of a tertiary hospital in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, between November 2021 and October 2022.

Article Synopsis
  • A study aimed to compare incisional hernia rates between single-port (SP-RARP) and multi-port robotic-assisted radical prostatectomies (MP-RARP) using data from 493 patients over five years.*
  • The overall hernia rate was found to be similar between the two techniques (8.1% for SP-RARP vs. 9.2% for MP-RARP), but SP-RARP had quicker operating room times (236 minutes vs. 276 minutes).*
  • However, patients undergoing SP-RARP were 3.4 times more likely to develop hernias compared to those with MP-RARP, with higher BMI and previous abdominal surgeries being significant risk factors.*

Introduction: An inguinal hernia is frequently identified in men with prostate cancer, which is likely due to similar risk factors, including age, gender and smoking.

Aim: To assess the safety and feasibility of performing concomitant robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) and robotic-assisted transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) inguinal hernia repair.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the treatment outcomes of 23 patients who underwent RARP between January 2022 and June 2023.

Background: To assess the predictive factors of immediate urinary continence after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy.

Methods: This study included 282 patients who underwent conventional robot-assisted radical prostatectomy at our institution from April 2019 to March 2024. The primary outcome was immediate urinary continence, defined as the absence of urine leakage immediately after urinary catheter removal on postoperative day 6 or 7.
