In a patient with variant angina of the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery, myocardial ischemia changed the QRS-ST-T configurations without J-waves into those resembling "lambda" waves at maximal ST-segment elevation, and couplets or triplets of supraventricular extrasystole (SVE) changed the ischemia-induced "lambda" waves into QRS-ST-T configurations resembling a "tombstone" morphology or "monophasic QRS-ST complex." At the resolution phase of coronary spasm, the QRS-ST-T configurations returned to those without J-waves and were changed by SVE into "lambda" waves. Interestingly, neither ischemia- nor SVE-induced "lambda" waves or SVE-induced "tombstone" morphology or "monophasic QRS-ST complex" were complicated by ventricular tachyarrhythmia.

Terahertz waves are gathering attention as carrier waves for next-generation wireless communications such as sixth-generation wireless communication networks and autonomous driving systems. Electromagnetic-wave absorbers for the terahertz-wave region are necessary to ensure information security and avoid interference issues. Herein we report a high-performance terahertz-wave absorber composed of a composite of metallic λ-TiO and insulating TiO nanocrystals (λ-TiO@TiO).

The complex dynamics of terahertz (THz) wave scattering by subwavelength-scale structures remain largely unexplored. This article examines the spectral scattering characteristics of subwavelength-sized spherical particles probed by tightly focused THz waves through numerical simulations and experimental techniques. The simulations reveal that the scattering intensity for lower Mie resonance modes (magnetic dipole and electric dipole modes) remains largely unaffected when THz waves are focused down to 0.

Studies have shown the presence of SARS-CoV-2 in the stool of both symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients, enabling wastewater-based surveillance (WBS) to complement clinical monitoring. The emergence of variants can enhance viral transmissibility, highlighting the need for ongoing surveillance to detect and control infectious diseases. This study aimed to detect SARS-CoV-2 variants in wastewater from a treatment plant in San Pedro de la Paz, Chile, between January and November 2021.

This paper theoretically explores the propagation attenuation of normally incident P-waves on a single uncoupled joint exhibiting nonlinear deformation behavior. The stress-deformation model of the single uncoupled joint (g-λ model with λ ≥ 1) is employed to depict the nonlinearity of uncoupled joints, with a greater value of the parameter λ signifying a lower degree of non-linearity in the joint model curve. By making use of the characteristic line approach in conjunction with the discontinuous displacement model, we have obtained the finite difference expressions which precisely represent the particle velocity and energy transmission coefficient of the transmitted wave.
