Introduction: Among techniques for short spermatic vessels in nonpalpable undescended testis (UDT), the Fowler-Stephens (F-S) procedure is the most favored. However, traction methods have regained popularity with gradual testicular tension for elongation to avoid ligating the spermatic vessels.
Objective: To compare two techniques for low intra-abdominal UDT with a short spermatic cord: staged laparoscopic F-S and a modified staged open traction technique, and to determine if long-practicing surgeons should change their preferred method.

Dental veneers are a popular option for enhancing smile aesthetics. While both ceramic and composite veneers are effective, achieving optimal outcomes often requires meticulous planning and interdisciplinary collaboration. A woman in her early 30s presented with dissatisfaction due to poorly executed direct composite veneers from teeth #15 to #25, which led to biofilm accumulation and gingival inflammation.

Background And Aim: The use of acupuncture is becoming increasingly popular in the management of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This systematic review consolidates evidence on acupuncture's efficacy and safety for treating ADHD in children and adolescents.
Methods: Controlled clinical trials assessing acupuncture against waitlist-control, placebo or active controls, or as an adjunct treatment were systematically searched across seven databases from inception to November 2024.

Background: Zebrafish are a popular model system to study the genetic and neural basis of perception and behavior. Cultured primary neurons provide a complementary tool for such studies, but existing protocols for culturing embryonic zebrafish neurons are limited by short cell survival and low neuronal purity. In this study, we set out to establish a protocol to produce long lived brain cell cultures from zebrafish that could be used to study the mechanistic contributions of genes to neuronal networks.

Effective representation of medical concepts is crucial for secondary analyses of electronic health records. Neural language models have shown promise in automatically deriving medical concept representations from clinical data. However, the comparative performance of different language models for creating these empirical representations, and the extent to which they encode medical semantics, has not been extensively studied.
