Droplet microfluidics is a powerful method for digital droplet polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) applications. However, precise droplet control, bulky peripherals, and multistep operation usually required in droplet detection process hinder the broad application of ddPCR. Here, a contracted channel droplet reinjection chip is presented, where droplets can be self-separated and detected one by one at intervals.

The recent COVID-19 pandemic has set a strong quest for advanced understanding of possible tracks in abating and eliminating viral infections. In the view that several families of "pristine" small oxide nanoparticles (NPs) have demonstrated viricidal activity against SARS-CoV-2, we studied the effect of two NPs, with presumably different reactivity, on two viruses aiming to evaluate two "primary suspect" routes of their antiviral activity, either specific blocking of surface proteins or causing membrane disruption. The chosen NPs were non-photoactive 3.

Tumor vaccines that activate the autologous immune system to eliminate tumor cells represent a promising approach in cancer immunotherapy. However, challenges such as tumor heterogeneity, limited antigen selection, insufficient antigen presentation, and the slow onset of de novo immune responses have resulted in poor universality and suboptimal response rates. In contrast, pathogen-specific pre-existing immunity acquired through infection or vaccination, can rapidly generate a more potent and enduring immune response upon re-encounter with the same antigen.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to analyze and compare the cognitive profile between 59 patients with long-COVID [LC; 30 of them with and 29 without a positive coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) confirmatory test] and 31 patients with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and a matched group of 39 healthy control participants.
Methods: Participants were examined on a battery of neuropsychological tests, including verbal memory, visuospatial abilities, attention, processing speed, verbal fluency, working memory, and visual memory. Anxious-depressive symptomatology was also analyzed and then controlled for possible influence on cognitive performance.

The global malaria program has faced setbacks due to disruptions in health services caused by COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these challenges, Asia that primarily comprised of low and middle-income countries (LMICs), continues to make strides towards malaria elimination. This scoping review explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on malaria control programs in Asian countries with varying levels of malaria endemicity.
