Unlabelled: The social work Grand Challenge to Promote Smart Decarceration's aim is to address the high rates of incarceration in the United States.
Purpose: Yet very little is known about criminal justice practitioners in the U.S.
Method: In this exploratory study. Practitioners in correctional facilities (38), responded to an online survey asking them about their perceptions of the services they provide and to identify their professional needs working within these settings.
Results: Findings include the need for people who are incarcerated to have access to treatment for substance use, behavioral/mental health, and trauma-related issues. In addition, they reported the need for service coordination with agencies based in their home communities. Furthermore, the participants reported that they need more training and support on these topics in order to provide effective services to their clients.
Discussion: Implications for practice, research, and policy are discussed, including strategies to address all levels of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using traditional type II photosensitizers (PSs) has been limited in hypoxic tumors due to excessive oxygen consumption. The conversion from type II into a less oxygen-dependent type I PDT pathway has shown the potential to combat hypoxic tumors. Herein, the design of a heterodimeric PS, NBSSe, by conjugating a widely used type I PS NBS and a type II PS NBSe via molecular dimerization, achieving the aggregation-regulated efficient type I photodynamic conversion for the first time is reported.

Background: The mite Varroa destructor is the most serious pest of the western honey bee (Apis mellifera) and a major factor in the global decline of colonies. Traditional control methods, such as chemical pesticides, although quick and temporarily effective, leave residues in hive products, harming bees and operators' health, while promoting pathogen resistance and spread. As a sustainable alternative, RNA interference (RNAi) technology has shown great potential for honey bee pest control in laboratory assays, but evidence of effectiveness in the field has been lacking.
