In this paper, we investigated the effect of the incidence angle of a laser ray on the reflected laser intensity. A dataset on this dependence is presented for materials usually used in the industry, such as transparent and non-transparent plastics and aluminum alloys with different surface roughness. The measurements have been performed with a laser line triangulation sensor and a UR10e robot. The presented results are proposing where to place the sensor relative to the scanned object, thus increasing the reliability of the sensor data collection.

Background: Rater change is inevitable in often lengthy clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease. Other groups have previously assessed the impact of rater change on data variability. Their conclusions varied, possibly due to differing methodologies (e.

The current study examines whether administration of a novel, brain-penetrant NOX2 inhibitor (CPP11G & CPP11H) reduces amyloid plaque load and improves AD-associated vascular dysfunction in a male APP-PS1 mouse model of AD.
Method: Intraperitoneal injections of CPP11G (n = 1) or CPP11H (n = 2) three times per week began at 9-10 months of age in the treatment APP-PS1 group (15 mg/kg).

Background: For care of persons with dementia (PWDs), the healthcare system relies on informal care partners (CPs), who are disproportionately at risk of detrimental health outcomes. Psychosocial interventions, including via telehealth, have been shown to buffer against negative outcomes and improve CPs' ability to provide care. We aimed to develop and pilot an evidence-informed CP intervention using in-person and telehealth modalities.

Background: Early detection of Alzheimer's disease (AD) can improve prognosis, given new anti-amyloid therapies. Both positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging biomarkers are currently used (1). 48F-Fluorodeoxyglucose-PET (FDG-PET) can detect neurodegeneration-related hypometabolism but is costly and not easily accessible (2).

Background: Many treatments targeting frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) are in the developmental pipeline, but the rarity of the disease, coupled with the behavioral and motor features of FTLD, make it challenging to identify sufficient trial participants who can attend frequent in-person visits. Decentralized clinical trial designs with remote evaluations are attractive alternatives but require validated tools for symptom tracking. Our previous cross-sectional analyses showed that cognitive tasks deployed via the ALLFTD Mobile App are reliable and sensitive to early stages of disease.
