The advanced and high-functional activities of magnesium oxide and copper oxide nanoparticles encourage the extensive use of these metal oxides as remarkable electroactive materials in electrochemical and sensing detections. The current study described a comparative sensing activity and selectivity of modified coated wire membrane sensors enriched with magnesium oxide and copper oxide nanoparticles for quantifying the breast cancer medication letrozole (LTZ) in its pharmaceutical form and human plasma. The fabricated sensors were based on the incorporation of LTZ with phosphomolybdic acid (PMA) to form the electroactive complex letrozole-phosphomolybate (LTZ-PM) in the presence of -nitrophenyloctyl ether (-NPOE) as a solvent mediator. Under optimum conditions, the modified sensors LTZ-PM-MgONPs and LTZ-PM-CuONPs demonstrated linear relationships of 1.0 × 10-1.0 × 10 and 1.0 × 10-1.0 × 10 mol L, respectively. Least square equations were calculated as E = (56.4 ± 0.7) log [LTZ] + 569.6 and E = (58.7 ± 0.3) log [LTZ] + 692.6 for LTZ-PM-MgONPs and LTZ-PM-CuONPs, respectively. The conventional type LTZ-PM showed a potential response E = (53.3 ± 0.5) log [LTZ] + 451.4 over concentration range of 1.0 × 10-1.0 × 10 mol L. The suggested sensors were successfully used to determine LTZ in pharmaceutical formulations and biosamples. Method validation ensured the suitability of the suggested potentiometric sensors.

Objectives: The ValveClamp system (Hanyu Medical Technology) is a novel transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) system designed for ease of operation; however, there is a lack of data on its application in secondary mitral regurgitation (SMR). The authors report the mid-term outcomes of TEER using the ValveClamp system in SMR.
Methods: The study prospectively analyzed consecutive severe SMR patients who underwent transapical ValveClamp implantation at 10 Chinese centers.

Developing an effective vaccine for haemorrhagic septicaemia (HS) in cattle and buffaloes is urgently needed. While preferred for their safety, achieving sufficient, cross-protective, and long-lasting immunity is still challenging when administering inactivated vaccines. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of four inactivating components comprising three inactivating agents: (1) Binary ethylenimine (BEI), (2) Formalin, (3) a combination of BEI and Formalin, and (4) Hydrogen peroxide (HO), in inactivating Pasteurella multocida to enhance HS vaccine potency.

Objectives: To examine the relationship of ophthalmic artery (OA) Doppler indices with uterine artery (UtA) Doppler indices, selected maternal hemodynamic parameters and gestational age, and to evaluate the intraobserver reproducibility of OA Doppler indices.
Methods: This was a prospective cohort study of women recruited between 11 + 0 and 23 + 6 weeks' gestation using a stratified and random sampling approach to ensure adequate distribution across the gestational-age range. OA pulsatility index (PI), first peak systolic velocity (PSV1), second peak systolic velocity (PSV2) and peak systolic velocity ratio (PSV ratio), calculated as PSV2/PSV1, were measured twice in each eye by the same observer.

Background: Hyperthyroid cats that are azotemic and hypothyroid after surgical or medical treatment have poor outcomes, and supplementation with levothyroxine (LT4) improves survival. However, the effect of LT4 supplementation on survival of nonazotemic, hypothyroid radioiodine (RI)-treated hyperthyroid cats is unknown.
Hypothesis: Radioiodine treated hyperthyroid cats with iatrogenic hypothyroidism or azotemia have shorter survival times than euthyroid, nonazotemic cats and supplementation of LT4 improves survival times of hypothyroid cats.
