Histiocytosis are caused by pathogenic myeloid cells, and can be classified as Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and non-LCH. Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a non-LCH, characterized by multi-organ involvement, typical imaging findings, and confirmatory histological studies. A case with multi-organ involvement and histological confirmation is presented.

Age-related hearing loss (ARHL) is considered one of the most common neurodegenerative disorders in the elderly; however, how it contributes to cognitive decline is poorly understood. With resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging from 66 individuals with ARHL and 54 healthy controls, group spatial independent component analyses, sliding window analyses, graph-theory methods, multilayer networks, and correlation analyses were used to identify ARHL-induced disturbances in static and dynamic functional network connectivity (sFNC/dFNC), alterations in global network switching and their links to cognitive performances. ARHL was associated with decreased sFNC/dFNC within the default mode network (DMN) and increased sFNC/dFNC between the DMN and central executive, salience (SN), and visual networks.

Tuberculosis (TB) affecting the central nervous system (CNS) is rare, often mimicking other intracranial pathologies such as meningiomas, especially when located in the anterior skull base. Despite a global reduction in TB incidence, CNS TB continues to present diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific imaging characteristics. We report a case of a 39-year-old male with symptoms including persistent headache, vertigo, and visual disturbances.

A 46-year-old NF1 patient with sudden visual disturbance had a thrombotic vertebral artery aneurysm causing cerebral infarction. Endovascular internal trapping was performed successfully, with complete recovery and no neurological deficits. Although this is a rare case, it suggests that endovascular therapy could be successful for vascular lesions complicated by NF1.

Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a common complication of diabetes, which may cause visual disturbance and even loss of sight. Oxidative stress and inflammation are two crucial pathological factors of DR; however, their specific regulatory mechanisms in DR remain obscure.

Methods: DR models were established in streptozotocin-challenged rats and high glucose (HG)-stimulated Müller cells.
