Objective: to construct the conceptual and operational definitions of the defining and conceptual characteristics of the related factors of the nursing diagnosis (ND) hypothermia (00006) of NANDA-I, 2015-2017, in adult patients in the perioperative period.

Method: an integrative literature review in the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Cochrane Library, The Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature and in Latin & American Literature in Health Sciences databases.

Results: 2,041 articles were found, 95 selected for reading in full and 24 used to construct such definitions. Gay literature was also explored to ensure robustness to the elucidation of topics not found in articles.

Conclusion: such definitions will assist nurses in surgical practice in information collection, in accurate determination of the referred ND, in teaching and in future research related to this theme, as well as in the next validation stages of such ND to the referred population.

Photochemically triggered, transient, and temporally oscillatory-modulated transcription machineries are introduced. The resulting dynamic transcription circuits are implemented to guide photochemically triggered, transient, and oscillatory modulation of thrombin toward temporal control over fibrinogenesis. One system describes the assembly of a reaction module leading to the photochemically triggered formation of an active transcription machinery that, in the presence of RNase H, guides the transient activation of thrombin toward fibrinogenesis.

Push-Pull Motivators and Perceived Health Care Quality on Remote Health Management Intentions-Evidence From the Indian Internet Population.

Qual Manag Health Care

December 2024

Author Affiliations: Department of Management Studies, College of Engineering, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Background And Objectives: Hospitals offered remote health care services to enable seamless and safe execution of health care operations during the pandemic while ensuring all stakeholders' quality of life and well-being. We explore various push and pull motivational factors that can influence customers' intentions to adopt remote health care services. We also examine the mediating role of perceived health care quality in light of their hedonic experience during the pandemic.

Manipulating energy migration in nanoparticles toward tunable photochromic upconversion.

Nat Commun

State Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials and Devices, Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Fiber Laser Materials and Applied Techniques, Guangdong Engineering Technology Research Center of Special Optical Fiber Materials and Devices, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China.

Smart control of energy interactions plays a key role in manipulating upconversion dynamics and tuning emission colors for lanthanide-doped materials. However, quantifying the energy flux in particular energy migration in the representative sensitizer-activator coupled upconversion system has remained a challenge. Here we report a conceptual model to examine the energy flux in a single nanoparticle by designing an interfacial energy transfer mediated nanostructure.

Purpose: The objective was to use cyclic tensile loading to compare the gap formation at suture site of three different suture materials to repair bovine radial meniscal tears: (1) polyglactin sutures, (2) tough adhesive puncture sealing (TAPS) sutures and (3) ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) sutures.

Methods: Twelve ex vivo bovine knees were dissected to retrieve the menisci. Complete radial tears were performed on 24 menisci, which were then separated into three groups and repaired using either pristine 2-0 polyglactin sutures, TAPS sutures (2-0 polyglactin sutures coated with adhesive chitosan/alginate hydrogels) or 2-0 UHMWPE sutures with a single stitch.

Extending Fundamental Cause Theory to Holistic Health.

Sociol Health Illn

January 2025

Center for Public Policy and Health, Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA.

Fundamental Cause Theory (FCT) offers a unique middle range and longitudinal understanding of the lasting social causational relationships between certain social conditions and disease/death. In this research note, I argue that FCT should extend its outcome measures beyond physical disease and death into holistic health. I briefly review how FCT is evaluated, explore the proposed extension and discuss some operational and conceptual challenges using mental illness and positive mental health outcomes as exemplars.
