Introduction: The holiday season poses a unique challenge for hospital staff, especially on night shifts, who must juggle their duties with preparing a festive Christmas meal. This study investigates the novel idea of using hospital MRI scanners to cook duck breasts during shifts. MRI scanners, which use magnetic fields and radiofrequency (RF) pulses for imaging, also generate heat, potentially suitable for cooking.

  • - Intentional harm to marine mammals involves deliberate actions by humans that cause injury or death, primarily motivated by retaliation from fishermen, and is illegal in many countries.
  • - A study documented 13 cases of attacked marine mammals, primarily bottlenose dolphins, in Croatia between 1990 and 2023, with findings indicating that most targeted individuals were adult males and that shotgun pellets and speargun spearheads were commonly found in their remains.

Introduction: The development of pneumatic shooting has led to the construction of technologically advanced devices with discharge energies similar to those of firearms. The pneumatic weapons ammunition market offers a variety of shot which varies in penetration properties and the extent of gunshot damage. In view of the ease of "tuning" of air rifles, a study was conducted of the inlet damage to the anterior femoral surface after pneumatic gunshots.

Compared to popular handguns and rifle bullets, quantitative and empirical-based ricochet studies using shotgun pellet ricochets are observed to be far fewer. This empirical study examines the ricochet behaviour and impact evidence when shotgun pellets (Buckshot) ricochet off standard floor tiles, providing a series of novel findings related to the resultant ricochet marks. Among these findings, a novel and statistically significant relationship between the lengths and widths of individual ricochet marks and the shot impact angles is demonstrated, offering useful forensic application.
