Introduction: Nadezhda Clinic is a free student-run health clinic that provides culturally sensitive primary care services to the underserved Russian-speaking population of the greater Sacramento area. What drives some people to save more effectively for their future than others? This multistudy investigation (N = 143,461) explores how dispositional optimism-the generalized tendency to hold positive expectations about the future-shapes individuals' financial decisions and outcomes. Leveraging both cross-sectional and longitudinal designs across several countries, our findings reveal that optimism significantly predicts greater savings over time, even when controlling for various demographic, psychological, and financial covariates. Furthermore, we find that the role of optimism varies based on socioeconomic circumstances: Among lower income individuals, optimism is more strongly associated with saving.

Drug resistance mechanisms in human pathogenic Candida species are constantly evolving. Over time, these species have developed diverse strategies to counter the effects of various drug classes, making them a significant threat to human health. In addition to well-known mechanisms such as drug target modification, overexpression, and chromosome duplication, Candida species have also developed permeability barriers to antifungal drugs through reduced drug import or increased efflux.

Neoantigen mRNA vaccines and AA receptor antagonism: A strategy to enhance T cell immunity.

Hum Vaccin Immunother

December 2025

Key Laboratory of Epigenetics and Oncology, The Research Center for Preclinical Medicine, Southwest Medical University, Luzhou, Sichuan, China.

Although neo-antigen mRNA vaccines are promising for personalized cancer therapy, their effectiveness is often limited by the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). The adenosine AA receptor (AAR) inhibits dendritic cell (DC) function and weakens antitumor T cell responses through hypoxia-driven mechanisms within the TME. This review explores a novel strategy combining neo-antigen mRNA vaccines with AAR antagonists (AARi).
