Cell division cycle 25 A () accounts for an essential function on early folliculogenesis of female mammals, especially regulating the function of intra-ovarian, thus this gene is pinpointed as a candidate gene that influences the kidding number of goat. On this ground, the purpose of this study was to investigate whether the reported 20-nt nucleotide variants locus (rs639467625) of the gene influences kidding number in Shaanbei white cashmere goat (SBWC). The -test showed that there were more ID genotypes in mothers of multiple lambs than in mothers of single lambs. Interestingly, this indel locus was related to the first-born kidding number in the group of SBWC goats ( < 0.05). Similarly, the result of the -test was consistent with the result of the -test, showed the kidding number of ID genotype individuals was large than that of II individuals ( < 0.05). These findings proved that the different genotypes of have impacts on goat kidding numbers. Thus, the results led us to speculate that the ID genotype of was one of the main indel influencing goat kidding numbers. Simultaneously, this study was expected to provide useful DNA markers for superior individuals selection by marker-assisted selection (MAS) and make a contribution to goats breeding.

Lüliang black goat (LBG) is a unique livestock genetic resource of great significance for the local agriculture and economic development of Shanxi, China. However, the kidding rate of LBG is relatively low, which limits efforts to improve the reproductive performance and economic benefits of this breed. Therefore, improving the kidding characteristics of LBG is crucial for increasing its economic benefits.

Objective: This study investigated the efficiency of different estrous synchronization programs and hormonal treatments in improving reproductive outcomes in goats. Conducted on a commercial farm in southern Thailand, the study used multiparous Shami and Anglo-Nubian breed goats.
Methods: In experiment 1, goats were randomly allocated to two estrous synchronization treatments: 11-day (CI11D) and 13-day (CI13D) intravaginal progesterone implants, followed by artificial insemination (AI) with frozen-thawed semen.

The present study aimed to evaluate the genetic parameters of first parity reproductive traits. Information on 762 reproductive records on Saanen × Beetal (S × B) goats reared for approximately five decades was collected from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana (1973-2020). For genetic analysis, single-trait and multiple-trait animal models were used.

There are no studies regarding the estimation of genetic parameters and genetic trends for reproductive traits and somatic cells in goats. Their knowledge allows optimization of selection schemes. The objective of this study was to estimate genetic parameters and genetic and phenotypic trends for age at first kidding (AFK), kidding interval (KIN) and somatic cell score (SCS).

Total bacterial count (TBC) and SCC are important quality parameters in goat milk. Exceeding the bulk milk TBC (BMTBC) thresholds leads to price penalties for Dutch dairy goat farmers. Controlling these milk quality parameters can be challenging, especially around kidding.
