Skeletal muscle atrophy, resulting from an imbalance in muscle protein synthesis and degradation, compromises muscle quality and function, imposing significant burdens on movement and metabolic stability. Animal models are crucial for understanding the mechanisms of skeletal muscle atrophy and developing clinical prevention and treatment strategies. Zebrafish, as small aquatic vertebrates, exhibit high genetic homology with humans and offer advantages such as rapid reproduction, development, and transparent embryos.

Women are vulnerable to body image disturbances, prompting numerous interventions to improve their body image. However, a systematic review and meta-analysis of such interventions is lacking. This study reviewed interventions designed to enhance body image among nonclinical women and quantified their effectiveness.

Natural Products From Plants Targeting Leptin Resistance for the Future Development of Anti-Obesity Agents.

Obesity is a serious health threat, which has affected 16% of adults globally in 2022 and shows a trend toward youthfulness. Leptin, as a regulator of body weight, can suppress appetite and promote energy expenditure, making it potential in obesity treatment. Nevertheless, with the progress of relevant research, it is worth noting that monotherapy with leptin is not an effective strategy since most obese individuals are hyperleptinemic and resistant to leptin, where high levels of leptin fail to exert its weight-loss effects.

Quantum magnetic materials can provide explicit realizations of paradigm models in quantum many-body physics. In this context, SrCu_{2}(BO_{3})_{2} is a faithful realization of the Shastry-Sutherland model for ideally frustrated spin dimers, even displaying several of its quantum magnetic phases as a function of pressure. We perform inelastic neutron scattering measurements on SrCu_{2}(BO_{3})_{2} at 5.
