The American Thoracic Society Core Curriculum updates clinicians annually in adult and pediatric pulmonary disease, medical critical care, and sleep medicine in a 3- to 4-year recurring cycle of topics. The topics of the 2020 Pulmonary Core Curriculum include pulmonary vascular disease (submassive pulmonary embolism, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary hypertension) and pulmonary infections (community-acquired pneumonia, pulmonary nontuberculous mycobacteria, opportunistic infections in immunocompromised hosts, and coronavirus disease [COVID-19]).

The exceptional oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performances of core-shell catalysts are well documented, yet their activity and durability origins have been interpreted only based on the static structures. Herein we employ a NiFe alloy coated with a nitrogen-doped graphene-based carbon shell (NiFe@NC) as a model system to elucidate the active structure and stability mechanism for the ORR and OER by combining constant potential computations, molecular dynamic simulations, and experiments. The results reveal that the synergistic effects between the alloy core and carbon shell facilitate the formation of Fe-N-C active sites and replenish metal sites when central metal atoms detach.

Objective: The objective of this study is to compare the effectiveness of low-load blood flow restriction training (LL-BFRT) to heavy-load resistance training (HL-RT) in male collegiate athletes with chronic non-specific low back pain (CNLBP).
Methods: Twenty-six participants were randomly assigned to LL-BFRT ( = 13) or HL-RT ( = 13). All participants supervised exercises (deep-squat, lateral pull-down, bench-press and machine seated crunch) cycled 4 times per week for 4 weeks (16 sessions).
