(Orininae, Cynodonteae, Chloridoideae, Poaceae) is an ecologically important genus. The phylogenetic placement of and phylogenetic relationships among taxa remain controversial for a long time. To resolve the intra- and inter-generic relationships of , the plastomes of 12 taxa (including 8 species and 4 varieties), one species, 15 species, two species, and two species were included in the present study. All the taxa showed a similar pattern in plastome structure, gene order, gene content, and IR boundaries. The number of simple sequence repeats ranged from 145 () to 161 ( and ). Moreover, 1,687 repeats were identified in these taxa, including 1,012 forward, 650 palindromic, 24 reverse, and one complement. Codon usage analysis revealed that these plastomes contained 16,633 () to 16,678 () codons. Sequence divergence analysis among and closely related genera identified five non-coding regions (, , , , ). Phylogenetic analysis of complete plastomes indicated that is sister to a clade composed of and , whereas it did not support the sister relationship between the recently proposed subtribe Orininae ( and ) and . The subtribe Orininae was not supported by our complete plastome data. The split between and - clade go back to 14.01 Ma. Besides, our findings suggested that and are the successive early diverging groups in the phylogenetic analysis. The other 10 taxa are divided into two groups: a monophyletic group composed of sp. nov. and var. is sister to other eight taxa. was estimated to have experienced rapid divergence within a short period, which could be a major obstacle in resolving phylogenetic relationships within . Collectively, our results provided valuable insights into the phylogenetic study of grass species.

African swine fever (ASF) is considered as one of the most threatening diseases for the pig farming industry all over the world. Due to the lack of an effective vaccine, organized farms and backyard rearing must strictly enforce control measures in order to combat the disease. The present report describes the ASF epidemic in a piggery in Uttar Pradesh state, India.

Laboratory of Clinical Virology, WHO Regional Reference Laboratory for Poliomyelitis and Measles for in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, Institut Pasteur de Tunis, University of Tunis El Manar, 13 place Pasteur, BP74 1002 le Belvédère, Tunis, Tunisia.

Background: Primary Immunodeficiency disorders (PID) can increase the risk of severe COVID-19 and prolonged infection. This study investigates the duration of SARS-CoV-2 excretion and the genetic evolution of the virus in pediatric PID patients as compared to immunocompetent (IC) patients.

Materials And Methods: A total of 40 nasopharyngeal and 24 stool samples were obtained from five PID and ten IC children.

"Sichuanvirus", a novel bacteriophage viral genus, able to lyse carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae.

Center of Infectious Diseases, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Guoxuexiang 37, Chengdu, 610041, China.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) is a severe threat for human health and urgently needs new therapeutic approaches. Lytic bacteriophages (phages) are promising clinically viable therapeutic options against CRKP. We attempted to isolate lytic phages against CRKP of sequence type 11 and capsular type 64 (ST11-KL64), the predominant type in China.

Background: Ginkgo biloba L., an iconic living fossil, challenges traditional views of evolutionary stasis. While nuclear genomic studies have revealed population structure across China, the evolutionary patterns reflected in maternally inherited plastomes remain unclear, particularly in the Sichuan Basin - a potential glacial refugium that may have played a crucial role in Ginkgo's persistence.

Background: Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) is recognized as a common clinical conditional pathogen with bla gene-mediated multidrug-resistance that is a significant threat to public health safety. Timely and effective infection control measures are needed to prevent their spread.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of CRAB patients at three teaching hospitals from 2019 to 2022.
