Photodynamic therapy is a highly promising method for cancer adjuvant treatment. However, the current research on the microscopic changes during the photodynamic therapy process is still quite limited, which seriously impedes the deep understanding of the procedure. For this purpose, a novel polarity-responsive probe, , with excellent mitochondrial targeting and anchoring capabilities has been rationally designed and synthesized.

Nanoparticles have gained attention as drug delivery vehicles for cancer treatment, but often struggle with poor tumor accumulation and penetration. Single external magnets can enhance magnetic nanoparticle delivery but are limited to superficial tumors due to the rapid decline in the magnetic field strength with distance. We previously showed that a 2-magnet device could extend targeting to greater tissue depths.

Purpose: Establishing the safety profile of repeated low-level red-light (RLRL) therapy is necessary prior to its widespread clinical implementation.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review (International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews, CRD42024516676) of articles across seven databases from inception through February 10, 2024, with keywords related to myopia and RLRL therapy. Pooled safety outcomes and risk-to-benefit ratios were reported, and incidence of side effects was compared with other antimyopia interventions.

Introduction: Small vulnerable newborns (SVNs) are at an increased risk of early death and other morbidities. Essential interventions provided to SVN, and other high-risk newborns have been proven critical in improving their outcomes. We aimed to provide an update on the effectiveness and safety of these interventions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
