Objectives: Robust evidence highlights the crucial role of nutrition for people with cancer, and international organizations recognize it as a basic human right linked to health and food. Within this context, we aim to emphasize the critical role of nutrition care for cancer patients and to highlight the essential contributions of nurses in providing patient-centered nutrition care.
Methods: This opinion paper synthesizes evidence and perspectives from peer-reviewed articles and position papers.

Colon cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide, necessitating advancements in therapeutic strategies to improve outcomes. Current treatment modalities, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, are limited by systemic toxicity, low drug utilization rates, and off-target effects. Colon-targeted drug delivery systems (CDDS) offer a promising alternative by leveraging the colon's unique physiology, such as near-neutral pH and extended transit time, to achieve localized and controlled drug release.

Effective pharmacy education requires incorporating interactive and engaging strategies that encourage collaboration among people from diverse backgrounds. Activities that forward cultural humility in combination with interprofessional education (IPE) are beneficial to achieve a comprehensive educational experience for enhanced patient centered care and effective teamwork between colleagues. Moving beyond travel seminars and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), these goals can be met through numerous educational formats, which can be tailored to the needs of the course using institutional resources available.

Objective: Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client centered counseling approach which aims to promote behavior change by enhancing patient motivation through the exploration and resolution of ambivalence. This type of psychotherapy, initially designed for the treatment of substance use disorders (SUD), is now seen as an effective way to manage chronic physical and psychiatric diseases. Patients with Dual Diagnosis (DD), people who simultaneously have a SUD diagnosis and a mental illness, are a complex group of psychiatric patients who have a particularly low treatment engagement.
