Egg production performance is one of the most important economic traits in pigeon industry. However, little is known regarding how egg production performance is regulated by long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in pigeons. To evaluate the lncRNAs and mRNAs in ovaries associated with egg production performance in domestic pigeons, high-throughput RNA sequencing of ovaries between high and low egg production performance groups were performed and analyzed in this study. A total of 34,346 mRNAs and 24,601 lncRNAs were identified, including 14,525 known lncRNAs and 10,076 novel lncRNAs, of which 811 mRNAs and 148 lncRNAs ( < 0.05) were significantly differentially expressed (DE) between the groups of high and low egg production performance. GO and KEGG annotation analysis indicated that the target genes of DE lncRNAs and DE mRNAs were related to cell differentiation, ATP binding and methylation. Moreover, we found that FOXK2, a target gene of lncRNA MSTRG.7894.4, was involved in regulating estrogen receptors. Our study provided a catalog of lncRNAs and mRNAs associated with egg production performance, and they deserve further study to deepen the understanding of biological processes in the ovaries of pigeons.

The most common and damaging plant parasitic nematodes are root-knot nematodes (RNK). Although hemp has been clearly infected by RNK, little information is available regarding the extent of the damage and losses caused. In addition, no information is available concerning hemp seed extracts' activity against RNK.

The present experiment aimed to formulate four ointments that included mixtures of plant extracts (, , , and ), apitherapy products (honey, propolis, and apilarnil) and natural polymers (collagen, chitosan, and the lyophilisate of egg white) in an ointment base. : In order to investigate the therapeutic properties of the ointments, experimental in vivo injury models (linear incision, circular excision, and thermal burns) were performed on laboratory animals, namely Wistar rats. The treatment was applied topically, once a day, for 21 days.

Gastrointestinal nematodes (GINs) inflict significant economic losses on sheep and goat farming globally due to reduced productivity and the development of anthelmintic resistance. Sustainable control strategies are urgently needed including the exploration of medicinal plants as safer alternatives to chemical anthelmintics. This genus of plants is used for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities.

In the present study, the hexane extract from branches of (Winteraceae) displayed potent activity against parasites (100% mortality of the worms at 200 μg/mL). Bioactivity-guided fractionation afforded, in addition to the previously reported bioactive sesquiterpene 3,6-epidioxy-bisabola-1,10-diene, two chemically related drimane sesquiterpenes-polygodial () and 9-deoxymuzigadial (). The anti- effects for compounds and were determined in vitro, with compound demonstrating significant potency (EC value of 10 μM for both male and female worms), while was inactive.

Chicken eggshells are a useful waste that may be used somewhere rather than being placed in landfills. They are created in poultry hatcheries, the food sector (making pasta, cakes, and egg products), or our homes. In this project, this study aimed to investigate the possibility of producing plywood using a filler in the gluing process in the form of ground eggshells.
