Non-linear summation of synaptic inputs to the dendrites of pyramidal neurons has been proposed to increase the computation capacity of neurons through coincidence detection, signal amplification, and additional logic operations such as XOR. Supralinear dendritic integration has been documented extensively in principal neurons, mediated by several voltage-dependent conductances. It has also been reported in parvalbumin-positive hippocampal basket cells, in dendrites innervated by feedback excitatory synapses.

Metabolic dysregulation causes diseases like diabetes and cancer, making PDKs attractive targets. However, a thorough investigation into the unique roles played by the different members of the PDK family, especially PDK3, about memory loss and related diseases like Alzheimer's disease (AD) is still lacking. The current study investigates PF's potential to reduce PDK3-associated toxicity in neurodegenerative illnesses, including AD.

Background: Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant pediatric brain tumor, typically treated with normofractionated craniospinal irradiation (CSI) with an additional boost over about 6 weeks in children older than 3 years. This study investigates the sensitivity of pediatric medulloblastoma cell lines to different radiation fractionation schedules. While extensively studied in adult tumors, these ratios remain unknown in pediatric cases due to the rarity of the disease.

Objectives: This systematic review aimed to identify effective components and assess the statistical, practical, and clinical significance of tailored interventions for enhancing cancer survivors' quality of life.
Methods: Twenty-four clinical trials were selected based on search results from five databases. Study quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool 2.

Cancer immunotherapies rely on CD8 cytolytic T lymphocytes (CTLs) in recognition and eradication of tumor cells via antigens presented on major histocompatibility complex class I (MHC-I) molecules. However, we observe MHC-I deficiency in human and murine urologic tumors, posing daunting challenges for successful immunotherapy. We herein report an unprecedented nanosonosensitizer of one-dimensional bamboo-like multisegmented manganese dioxide@manganese-bismuth vanadate (BMMBV) to boost multiple branches of immune responses targeting MHC-I-deficient tumors.
