Quantitative and Visual Benefits of Data-Driven Motion Correction on Oncologic PET/CT: A Prospective Cross-sectional Study.

Department of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine, 510 S. Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63110 (S.I., M.A.T., M.I., C.S., R.L., A.H., R.L.W., T.J.F.). Electronic address:

Rationale And Objective: Conventional positron emission tomography (PET) respiratory gating utilizes a fraction of acquired PET counts (i.e., optimal gate [OG]), whereas elastic motion correction with deblurring (EMCD) utilizes all PET counts to reconstruct motion-corrected images without increasing image noise.

Aging has a significant impact on brain structure, demonstrated by numerous MRI studies using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). While these studies reveal changes in fractional anisotropy (FA) across different brain regions, they tend to focus on white matter tracts and cognitive regions, often overlooking gray matter and motor areas. Additionally, traditional DTI metrics can be affected by partial volume effects.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a progressive, chronic eye disease with no permanent cure currently available. Symptoms of the disease, including distorted and blurred vision and gradual loss of central vision, significantly aggravate patients' daily functioning. The purpose of this study was to assess the acceptance of the disease among patients diagnosed with neovascular age-related macular degeneration before treatment and after receiving seven intravitreal injections and to determine how it was related to the values of visual parameters.

Abnormally fertilized embryos are often discarded during in vitro fertilization due to the fact that known chromosomal ploidy abnormalities lead to implantation failure or pregnancy loss. The objective of this study was to determine if pronuclear numeration (PN) observed at fertilization check is representative of the true ploidy status of the subsequent developing blastocyst in order to maximize the number of viable embryos available for infertility patients and increase their chances of conception. Upon successful fertilization, pronuclear numeration was noted, and zygotes were cultured to the blastocyst stage.

Forensically useful mid-term and short-term temperature reconstruction for quasi-indoor death scenes.

While estimating postmortem interval (PMI) ambient temperature plays a pivotal role, so its reconstruction is crucial for forensic scientists. The recommended procedure is to correct temperatures from the nearest meteorological station based on measurements from the death scene; typically applying linear regression. Recently, there have been attempts to use different algorithms, that can improve that correction, for example GAM algorithm.
