Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been extensively exploited as promising drugs to cope with antibiotic-resistant bacteria in clinical treatment. Peptide/polymer assembly provides a particularly important contribution to this topic and has emerged as a new paradigm for the development of nano-antimicrobial systems with previously unattainable outcomes. In this review article, we systematically summarize the recent advances in antimicrobial peptide/polymer assemblies.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, considerable advances have been made to improve epidemic preparedness by accelerating diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccine development. However, we argue that it is crucial to make equivalent efforts in the field of outbreak analytics to help ensure reliable, evidence-based decision making. To explore the challenges and key priorities in the field of outbreak analytics, the Epiverse-TRACE initiative brought together a multidisciplinary group of experts, including field epidemiologists, data scientists, academics, and software engineers from public health institutions across multiple countries.

Monitoring biomarker levels in body fluids is of great importance in clinical diagnosis. Herein, a robust 3D ZnMOF, {[Zn(BTPB)(bib)(μ-OH)]·2HO}, was fabricated based on the ligands of 1,4-bis(2,4,6-tricarboxylpyrid-5-yl)benzene (HBTPB) and 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)benzene (bib). On the basis of its stable architecture and intrinsic luminescence, ZnMOF demonstrated remarkable potential as a bifunctional luminescent sensor for selective and sensitive detecting the biomarkers of 3-nitrotyrosine (3-NT) and 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) in water and body fluids by employing distinct "turn-off" and "turn-on" responses.
