A new species of the praying mantis genus Stål, from southwest China is described and illustrated. An overview, comparison, and distribution data of this tribe are given. A new synonym is created: Xu, 2007 is a junior synonym of (Zhang, 1987). One new combination (Wang, 1991) (from Tinkham), is proposed.
