Background: The presence of significant tortuosity in access routes to aneurysms can interfere with catheter guidance and manipulation and significantly impact treatment strategies.
Observations: In this report, the authors combined intentional staged aneurysm embolization with the construction of a new direct access route, which they call a "highway bypass," for a symptomatic posterior circulation cerebral aneurysm that was difficult to access with a catheter. Notably, the highway bypass is used for catheter passage, and technical tips should be considered.

The rise in minimally invasive procedures has created a demand for efficient and reliable planning software to predict intra- and post-operative outcomes. Surrogate modelling has shown promise, but challenges remain, particularly in cardiovascular applications, due to the complexity of parametrising anatomical structures and the need for large training datasets. This study aims to apply statistical shape modelling and machine learning for predicting stent deployment in real time using patient-specific models.

This study compared the roles of extraparenchymal autonomic nervous system (ANS) control of cerebral blood flow (CBF) versus intraparenchymal cerebrovascular autoregulation in 487 patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) and 413 patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Vasomotion intensity of extraparenchymal and intraparenchymal vessels were quantified as the amplitude of oscillations of arterial blood pressure (ABP) and intracranial pressure (ICP) in the very low frequency range of 0.02-0.

The stochastic rupture risk assessment of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) critically depends on sufficient data set size that would allow for the proper distribution estimate. However, in most published cases, the data sets comprise no more than 100 samples, which is deemed insufficient to describe the tails of AAA wall thickness distribution correctly. In this study, we propose a stochastic Bayesian model to merge thickness data from various groups.

This study evaluates the feasibility and safety of percutaneous axillary artery access for endovascular therapy. A variety of anatomic and logistic obstacles can be overcome with upper extremity access.
