Thermal ablation (TA) procedures are effective treatments for several kinds of cancers. In the recent years, several medical imaging advancements have improved the use of image-guided TA. Imaging technique plays a pivotal role in improving the ablation success, maximizing pre-procedure planning efficacy, intraprocedural targeting, post-procedure monitoring and assessing the achieved result. Fusion imaging (FI) techniques allow for information integration of different imaging modalities, improving all the ablation procedure steps. FI concedes exploitation of all imaging modalities' strengths concurrently, eliminating or minimizing every single modality's weaknesses. Our work aims to give an overview of FI, explain and analyze FI technical aspects and its clinical applications in ablation therapy and interventional oncology.

Introduction: Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data is highly complex and high-dimensional, capturing signals from regions of interest (ROIs) with intricate correlations. Analyzing such data is particularly challenging, especially in resting-state fMRI, where patterns are less identifiable without task-specific contexts. Nonetheless, interconnections among ROIs provide essential insights into brain activity and exhibit unique characteristics across groups.

Introduction: The prostate biopsy (PB) results should be concordant with prostatectomy histopathology to avoid overestimating or underestimating the disease, leading to inappropriate or undertreatment of prostate cancer (PCa) patients. Since the introduction of multiparametric Magnetic Resonance Imaging (mpMRI) in the diagnostic pathway of PCa, most studies have shown that MRI/Ultrasound fusion-guided (MRI-fusion) PB improves concordance with histopathology of radical prostatectomy specimens. This study aimed to evaluate the improvement in concordance of prostatectomy specimens with PB histopathology obtained using the MRI-fusion approach compared with the 12-core TRUS-Bx and to identify the variables influencing this.

Background: Targeted and systematic transperineal biopsy of lesions guided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) fusion technique may optimize the biopsy procedure and enhance the detection of prostate cancer. We described the transperineal biopsy guided by an automatic MRI-TRUS fusion technique, and evaluated the accuracy and feasibility of this method in a prospective single-center study.
Methods: The proposed method focuses on automating the delineation of prostate contours in both the MRI and TRUS images, the registration and fusion of MRI and TRUS images, the generation and visualiztion of the systematic biopsy cores in their corresponding locations within the 2D and the 3D views, as well as the computation and visualiztion of needle trajectories from preoperative planning to intraoperative navigation.

Background: Radiomic features and deep features are both vitally helpful for the accurate prediction of tumor information in breast ultrasound. However, whether integrating radiomic features and deep features can improve the prediction performance of tumor information is unclear.
Methods: A feature fusion method based on radiomic features and revised deep features was proposed to predict tumor information.

Correctly diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD) and identifying pathogenic brain regions and genes play a vital role in understanding the AD and developing effective prevention and treatment strategies. Recent works combine imaging and genetic data, and leverage the strengths of both modalities to achieve better classification results. In this work, we propose MCA-GCN, a Multi-stream Cross-Attention and Graph Convolutional Network-based classification method for AD patients.
