Evidence-based evaluations of dental treatment are needed to support the development of special care dentistry services. This retrospective study was designed to collect and analyse X-ray images of permanent teeth restored with stainless steel crowns (SSC) in patients treated under general anaesthesia. Between 2013 and 2019, 360 permanent molars were crowned with SSCs in 198 adult patients. One calibrated investigator used an original validated tool to evaluate four radiographic criteria for molars restored with SSCs: (i) marginal adaptation; (ii) interdental proximal contact; (iii) the presence of glass ionomer cement overflow; and (iv) the loss of alveolar bone. Overall, no defect or a minor defect was reported for the majority of SSCs for the criteria "Marginal adaptation" (62.5%, = 320), "Proximal contact" (82.2%, = 236) and "Cement overflow" (95.8%, 337). Alveolar bone resorption was reported in 8.3% of cases, = 14, after a mean period of 8.9 ± 14.3 months. It was shown that the restoration of permanent teeth using SSCs placed under general anaesthesia presents a low risk of periodontal morbidity in the medium term when assessed radiographically.

Objective: This study evaluated dentin morphology and pulp cavity temperature changes during nanosecond‑ and microsecond‑pulse Er, Cr: YSGG laser debonding restoration and residual adhesive.
Materials And Methods: Ten caries-free teeth had their enamel removed perpendicular to the long axis, followed by bonding of glass ceramic restorations. The samples were randomly divided into two groups and subjected to Er, Cr: YSGG laser (3 mJ, 100 Hz, 100 ns), (3 mJ, 100 Hz, 150 µs) for debonding of restoration and residual adhesive on dentin surfaces.

Aim: The present study is aimed to compare the effectiveness of dentinal tubule occlusion of two natural-based desensitizing toothpaste (Bentodent Desensitizer and Fang Farm Mint) and Novamin-based toothpaste (Shy-NM) under scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Materials And Methods: A total of 60 root dentin discs (3 mm-thick) were obtained from recently extracted permanent premolar teeth and were randomly divided into four groups based on the desensitizing toothpaste used, each group with 15 samples: Group I: Control, group II: Shy-NM, group III: Bentodent desensitizer, group IV: Fang Farm Mint. Samples were brushed for 2 min twice daily with a soft toothbrush with respective pea size amount of toothpaste for 14 days manually.

Background: Cleft lip and/or palate is the most common congenital orofacial deformity, affecting 1/800 births. A thorough review of the literature has shown that children with cleft have poorer oral hygiene and dental health than other children, with higher levels of caries in both temporary and permanent teeth and poorer periodontal health. Cleft patients are treated by a multidisciplinary team that aims to provide comprehensive care from pre- or post-natal diagnosis to early adulthood and the end of growth.

This case report presents the multidisciplinary treatment of a male patient with a complex form of frontonasal dysplasia who presented with a 0 to 14 facial cleft, mild hypertelorism, absence of the nasal medial process of the nose, and frontonasal encephalocele. Cranial and plastic surgeries were performed to correct hypertelorism and improve the esthetic appearance of the frontonasal region. In the permanent dentition, the patient presented a Class II, division 1 malocclusion with severe maxillary constriction and bilateral posterior crossbite.

Materials And Methods: Thirty deeply carious young posterior teeth were treated by indirect pulp therapy. During the treatment, the cavity floor was lined with TheraCal or resin-modified glass ionomer cement (RMGIC) in the study group and with Dycal (control group) followed by GC IX and composite restoration.
