Protein aggregation and misfolding are some of the most challenging obstacles, customarily studied for their association with amyloid pathologies. The mechanism of amyloid fibrillation development is a dynamic phenomenon involving various factors such as the intrinsic properties of protein and the physical and chemical environmental conditions. The purpose of this study was to see the thermal aggregation profile of alpha-lactalbumin (α-LA) and to delineate the effect of trehalose on its aggregation profile. α-LA was subjected to thermal aggregation at high concentrations. UV-Vis spectroscopy, a turbidity assay, intrinsic fluorescence, Rayleigh scattering and a thioflavin T (ThT) assay explained the steady outcomes that 1 M trehalose repressed α-LA aggregation in the most effective way followed by 0.75 M and 0.5 M and to a significantly lesser degree by 0.25 M. Multi spectroscopic obser Sania ations were further entrenched by microscopy. Transmission electron microscopy confirmed that in the presence of its higher concentration, trehalose hinders fibril development in α-LA. In vitro studies were further validated by in silico studies. Molecular docking analysis indicated that trehalose occupied the binding pocket cavity of α-LA and offered several significant interactions, including H-bonds with important residues. This study provides a platform for trehalose in the therapeutic management of protein aggregation-related diseases.

The applicability of cellulose and its derivatives is greatly depends on their attributes such as aspect ratio, morphology, surface chemistry, crystallinity, as well as their thermal and mechanical properties. However, these attributes can alter according to the utilized raw material, size classifications, extraction techniques, or fibrillation methods. Among these, the effect of raw material particle size on cellulose properties has received limited attention in scientific studies.

White-light generation using small organic molecules has gained significant attention from researchers working on the interface of supramolecular chemistry and organic materials. Self-assembled multi-chromophoric materials utilizing a drug molecule and microenvironment-sensitive intramolecular charge transfer dye as an emitter offer the possibility of tunable emission. In this investigation, we focused on white light generation via the combination of a polarity-sensitive red-emitting styryl chromone (SC) and a blue-emitting anticancer and psychotherapeutic drug Norharmane (NHM) in a self-assembled micellar system.

A gold-cerium bimetallic asteroid nanoplatform (CeO@GNSs/Myr-HA) was obtained by electrostatically adsorbing ultra-small cerium dioxide (CeO) onto gold nanostars (GNSs) and further loading myricetin (Myr) and hyaluronic acid (HA). This nanoplatform exhibited three types of enzymatic properties-that is, GOD (glucose-oxidase), POD (peroxidase) and GSH-Ox (glutathione oxidase) mimicking catalytic activities. These enzymatic properties work together to effectively induce apoptosis in tumor cells.

Polysaccharides from the dried tuber of Typhonium giganteum Engl. (TGEPs) were obtained by utilizing ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) as the extraction method. The determination of optimal process parameters for the UAE of TGEPs (TGEP-U) was accomplished through the application of response surface methodology (RSM).

The ternary complex effectively prevents droplet aggregation, Ostwald ripening, and phase separation through its gel network, thereby demonstrating its capability in bioactive compound delivery. In this work, the influence of varying chickpea protein isolate (CPI) levels on the microstructure, gel characteristics, stability and functional properties of grape seed proanthocyanidin (GSP) and konjac gum (KGM) stabilized ternary complexes was investigated. Visual appearance indicated the formation of a non-stratified ternary complex as the CPI enhanced to 3-4 %.
