Although accurate interpretation of the standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) is fundamental to diagnosing heart disease, several prior studies report low accuracy rates among medical students, residents, and practicing physicians. The objective of this study was to determine if an online ECG Perceptual and Adaptive Learning Module (ECG PALM) is an efficient instrument to teach ECG interpretation. The ECG PALM consists of 415 unique ECG tracings with associated pretest, posttest, and delayed tests, each using 30 additional ECGs to gauge the effectiveness and durability of training. Between 2013 and 2015, a total of 113 third-year and 156 fourth-year medical students and 34 first-year, 41 second-year, and 37 third-year emergency medicine residents completed the PALM and associated tests. We measured two mastery criteria: accuracy, the percentage of correct interpretations, and fluency, the percentage of images interpreted accurately within 15 seconds. The ECG PALM produced statistically significant improvements (0.0001

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate alternative measurement points to assess stress levels during surgery, given that taking electrodermal activity (EDA) measurements from the palms, a commonly used standard, is impractical in surgical contexts.
Methods: A combination of mentally challenging tasks on a laparoscopy trainer (LapSim) and physically challenging sports exercises were performed by a group of participants. During these tasks, EDA was measured at three different locations: the fingers, toes, and shoulder/neck area.

Existing security issues like keys, pins, and passwords employed presently in almost all the fields that have certain limitations like passwords and pins can be easily forgotten; keys can be lost. To overcome such security issues, new biometric features have shown outstanding improvements in authentication systems as a result of significant developments in biological digital signal processing. Currently, the multimodal authentications have gained huge attention in biometric systems which can be either behavioural or physiological.

Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important diagnostic tool in identifying congenital heart disease (CHD), as demonstrated by this case of a 48-year-old female who presented for a preoperative evaluation for cosmetic surgery. ECG showed a right bundle branch block (RBBB) and first-degree atrioventricular (AV) block, and further testing revealed a primum atrial septal defect (ASD) with mitral valve anterior leaflet cleft and a membranous ventricular septal defect (VSD). She underwent successful surgical repair and was discharged home without complications.

We aim to analyze the frequency and type of abnormal ECG findings, subsequent changes in medical treatment, and their association with cardiovascular outcomes in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods and Results In the investigator-initiated multicenter MonDAFIS (impact of standardized monitoring for detection of atrial fibrillation in ischemic stroke) study, 3465 patients with acute ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack and without known atrial fibrillation were randomized 1:1 to receive Holter-ECG for up to 7 days in-hospital with systematic evaluation in a core cardiology laboratory (intervention group) or standard diagnostic care (control group).

The global palm oil industry is targeting an increased oil extraction rate in oil palm milling to meet global demand. This can be achieved through the certification of mills and adherence to bunch grading as part of ensuring that only high-quality and ripe fresh fruit bunches are accepted and processed at all mills. However, the current grading process requires the analysis of oil palm bunches, which is laborious and tedious or prone to error due to human subjectivity.
