NORD: NO Relaxation Delay NMR Spectroscopy.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

Copenhagen, Denmark.

Published: June 2021

The novel concept of NORD (NO relaxation delay) NMR spectroscopy is introduced. The idea is to design concatenated experiments in a way that the magnetization used in the first relaxes toward equilibrium during the second and vice versa, thus saving instrument time. Applications include complete well-resolved H- H and H- C one-bond and long-range correlation maps of an 80 mM solution of a trisaccharide recorded in less than two minutes and hydrocortisone with extensive spectral overlap.

The majority of nurses have a favourable opinion of complementary therapies. This makes it easier to identify the therapies used by patients. Being trained in and practising a complementary therapy strengthens the nursing skills and helps to give it new meaning.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores how vehicle occupants' postures change during evasive actions and identifies differences in responses when tested in a vehicle cabin versus a sled setup with varying surrounding structures.
  • - An experiment with five volunteers examined how the addition of a lateral structure affects body movement and muscle response during lateral accelerations, showing significant differences in upper body movement when the structure was present.
  • - Results indicated that the proximity of the structure influences head rotation during relaxation, with a notable decrease in maximum head rotation, while muscle activation remained consistent across setups, highlighting the role of environmental factors on human response in dynamic scenarios.

Molecular dynamics simulations at constant temperature and pressure were carried out to investigate the structural, dynamical, and dielectric properties of succinonitrile in its plastic and liquid phases at several thermodynamic states. A six-site united atom model was employed with a force field incorporating an intramolecular torsional term that accurately describes gauche and trans conformers. Analysis of the radial distribution function showed that succinonitrile adopts a body-centered cubic arrangement below its melting point, transitioning to a less ordered state in the liquid phase.

Background: Measuring passive hip flexion range of motion (ROM) is challenging due to compensatory movements. Despite the interest in using functional lateral radiographs for assessing hip mobility, the relationship with passive hip flexion ROM remains unclear. This study aims to elucidate this relationship and clarify spinopelvic parameters and mobility factors influencing variations in passive and radiographic hip flexion ROM.

Objectives: To compare the effectiveness, safety and patient satisfaction of a double balloon catheter (DB) with a synthetic osmotic cervical dilator (OD) for pre-induction cervical ripening in an outpatient setting.

Methods: This is a prospective, dual-center pilot study including 94 patients with an unripe cervix (Bishop Score <6) near term; 50 patients received the DB and 44 patients the OD. The primary outcomes were the difference in BishopScore (BS) and cervical shortening.
