In the present study, nanoscale micronutrient iron (α-FeO) has been prepared via co-precipitation using marine macro alga Turbinaria ornata. The nanoscale micronutrient iron has been used as priming agent for enhancing seed germination, seed quality, uptake, translocation, physiological effects and yield level of rice and maize crops. The physico-chemical characterization techniques results showed the successful preparation of nanoscale micronutrient iron. Seeds primed with nanoscale micronutrient iron at 25 mg/L significantly enhanced the seed germination and seedling parameters in comparison with conventional hydro-priming. ROS production in germinating nano-primed seeds of rice and maize enhanced the seed germination better than the conventional hydro-priming. Uptake and distribution of nanoscale micronutrient iron in rice and maize seedlings were studied using HR-SEM & ICP-MS analysis. Foliar application of low concentration (10 mg/L) nanoscale micronutrient iron under field conditions significantly increased the chlorophyll content, yield attributes of rice and maize crops.

Silk-fibroin hydrogels have gained considerable attention in recent years for their versatile biomedical applications. The physical properties of a complex hydrogel, comprising silk fibroin and riboflavin, surpass those of the silk fibroin-hydrogel without additives. This study investigates silk fibroin-riboflavin (silk-RIB) hydrogel at the atomistic level to uncover molecular structures and chemical characteristics specific to silk fibroin and riboflavin molecules in an aqueous medium.

Chemical fungicides have been used to control fungal diseases like Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. These fungicides must be restricted because of their toxicity and the development of resistance strains. Therefore, utilizing natural nanoscale materials in agricultural production is a potential alternative.

Emissions due to tires retread/repair and incineration are a cause of concern owing to the presence of nanoparticles in the products. The assessment exposure to humans hereto related is a challenge in an environmental context. The first object of this work is to develop a method to characterize the emission sources using online (counting and sizing) and offline measurements.

Herein, a kind of N-doped fluorescent carbon dots (N-CDs) were prepared by using melamine and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as precursors through a straightforward hydrothermal method. The designed sensor displayed a uniform nanoscale distribution, excellent hydrophilicity, and strong fluorescence emission with a fluorescence quantum yield of 37.98%.
