Objective: Stimulant medications are the primary pharmacological intervention for ADHD, yet our understanding of how sex and gender impact stimulant treatment outcomes remains limited. Clinical guidelines do not differ for female and male individuals despite possible sex and gender-related differences in effectiveness, adverse events, and pharmacokinetics. This theoretical framework identifies five key knowledge gaps relating to sex and gender effects in stimulant treatment.

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are key stroma cells that play dominant roles in the migration and invasion of several types of cancer through the secretion of inflammatory cytokine IL-17A. This study aims to identify the potential role and regulatory mechanism of CAFs-secreted IL-17A in the migration and invasion of prostate cancer (PC). CAFs and normal fibroblasts (NFs) were obtained from fresh PC and its adjacent normal tissues, respectively.

The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a dynamic transdifferentiation of epithelial cells into mesenchymal cells. EMT programs exhibit great diversity, based primarily on the distinct impact of molecular activities of the EMT transcription factors. Using a panel of cancer cell lines and a series of 71 triple-negative primary breast tumors, we report that the EMT transcription factor ZEB1 modulates site-specific chemical modifications of ribosomal RNA (rRNA).

Dairy heifers are often kept on open packs early in life and later transitioned to freestalls. The neck rail in freestalls acts as a barrier intended to prevent animals from entering too far in the stall, with the aim of improving stall cleanliness. Unfortunately, this barrier can hinder stall use and may be a hazard to animals due to physical contact, perhaps especially when animals first learn to use the stall.

The primary objective of the study was to characterize concentrations and yields of lactoferrin (LF), insulin, and IGF-I in colostrum, transition milk (TM), and whole milk (WM) of multiparous (MP) and primiparous (PP) cows. A secondary objective was to determine associations between colostrum and TM components (fat, protein, lactose), IgG, and bioactive compounds (oligosaccharides, LF, insulin, IGF-I; defined as compounds present in micro quantities that stimulate physiological responses systemically or locally within the neonate). Holstein cows (10 MP and 10 PP) were assigned to the study at calving and colostrum was collected 5.
