The aim of this study was to improve the quality of semen samples by using a novel double-tube (DT) method. The DT method was developed to select sperm and compared with traditional swim-up (SU) technique for 31 semen samples. Sperm DNA integrity were tested with TUNEL and SCSA. Content of antisperm antibodies (ASA) in the semen was measured by ELISA and MAR. Levels of the caspase-3 in the sperm were assessed by western blotting. After SU and DT, 15 couples and 16 couples were underwent IVF-ET. The number of RCDs, the percentage of SDF and DFI, ASA and the level of caspase-3 were significantly decreased after DT and SU ( = .001 and .001). When the DT and SU compared, there were significant changes in the number of RCD, the percentage of SDF and DFI, ASA and the level of caspase-3 ( 0.05-0.001). There was a higher cleavage rate ( = .017) and a lower abortion rate ( .05) in DT-IVF group than in SU-IVF group. DT selection yielded spermatozoa with low RCDs, DFI, ASA, and caspase-3 which would be benefit for ART.

Aim: The aim of this study is the evaluation effect of nanoliposome-loaded Mito-Tempo on sperm parameters during human sperm cryopreservation.

Methods: Semen samples of 50 Asthenoteratozoospermia men (random) were collected. Sperm parameters were analyzed based on World Health Organization (WHO, 2010) criteria (2021) and each sample was divided into 5 groups (E1-E5).

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the short- and long-term impacts of SARS-CoV-2 on sperm quality, revealing a lack of established knowledge due to insufficient longitudinal research.
  • Evaluating sperm parameters included assessments like motility, morphology, DNA damage, and the presence of anti-sperm antibodies, which classified patients based on their antibody response post-infection.
  • Findings indicate that SARS-CoV-2 affects various sperm quality metrics, with most changes being temporal and suggesting that individual immune response levels influence recovery to baseline sperm quality after infection.

Transtibial amputation (TTA) due to complications of diabetic foot infection (DFI) or peripheral vascular disease (PVD) is a high-risk procedure in fragile patients. The risks of reoperation, blood loss requiring blood transfusion, and mortality are high. The use of a tourniquet in this procedure is controversial and scarcely reported.

Article Synopsis
  • The novel coronavirus was identified in December 2019 and uses the ACE2 receptor to enter human cells, raising concerns about its impact on various organs, particularly in the male reproductive system.
  • Studies are focusing on both short-term and long-term complications of COVID-19, with an emphasis on how it may affect male fertility, including hormonal imbalances and the possible creation of anti-sperm antibodies.
  • The review suggests assessing sperm DNA fragmentation and related hormonal changes as indicators of fertility issues in COVID-19 patients, highlighting that the virus can disrupt spermatogenesis and lead to infertility through oxidative stress and inflammation.
