The development of integrated multiple signal outputs within a single platform is highly significant for efficient and accurate on-site biomarker detection. Herein, colorimetric/electrochemical dual-mode microfluidic paper-based analytical devices (μPADs) were designed for portable, visual and accurate dopamine (DA) detection. The dual-mode μPADs, featuring folded structure, integrate a colorimetric layer and an electrochemical layer using wax printing and laser-induced graphene (LIG) pyrolysis techniques, allowing the vertical flow of analyte solution.

Introduction: Access to rehabilitation services after a traumatic injury improves functional outcomes. No study has examined the association between injury intent, violent versus nonviolent, and receipt of rehabilitation services after injury.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of injured adult patients admitted to our level I trauma center from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2021.

Twisted halide perovskite bilayers, a type of moiré material, show square moiré patterns with exciting optical properties. Atomic-scale structure analysis and its correlation with properties are difficult to achieve due to the extreme sensitivity of organic-inorganic halide perovskites to the illuminated electron beam in conventional/scanning transmission electron microscopy. Here, we developed a low-dose exit wave reconstruction methodology with a real-space resolution of one angstrom at ∼50 e/Å, which recovers the phase information on the moiré fringes in CHNHPbI (MAPbI) twisted perovskite bilayers at atomic scale, enabling detailed structural analysis of defects and corresponding strain distribution in such moiré materials.

The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is a critical half-reaction in water splitting and metal-air cells. The sensitivity of the OER to the composition and structure of the electrocatalyst presents a significant challenge in elucidating the structure-property relationship. In this study, highly stable single-crystal cobalt carbonate hydroxide [Co(OH)CO, CoCH] was used as a model to investigate the correlations among structure, composition, and reactivity.

Historically, radiation exposure to mineral sands workers arose primarily from intake of thorium associated with monazite dust generated in mineral separation plants. Research investigations in the 1990s provided greater insight into the characteristics of inhaled thorium ore dust and bioassay studies inferred that some workers had accumulated significant lung burdens of thorium. Recent changes to biokinetic models have increased the radiation dose assessed to arise from thorium intake, raising questions on the appropriateness of current assumptions used in exposure assessment and feasibility of further bioassay research.
