Harmful cyanobacteria in reservoirs pose a serious threat to drinking water safety due to the intracellular metabolites, such as toxins and unpleasant tastes & odours. Effective removal of harmful cyanobacteria with little to no cell damage is very important to ensure the safety of drinking water. This review first introduced development history of cyanobacterial removal technologies in drinking water treatment.

Deep-seated Gravitational Slope Deformations (DsGSDs) are huge ground-deformation slow evolving phenomena, highly widespread in alpine territory. Their long-lasting evolution, with continuous deformation rate, may represents a natural hazard, able to endanger various anthropic structures and infrastructures. Until today, the development of technical and regulatory tools, aimed to effectively manage the interactions between DsGSDs and anthropic elements, has been generally lightly considered in risk management and land use planning.

Aims: A continuous quench-flow (CQF) reactor was developed to collect samples at the reaction times of less than one second. The reactor is applied to determine ozone disinfection kinetics of poliovirus and to study whether EMA-qPCR can assess the viral infectivity after ozone disinfection.
Methods: Ozone disinfection of poliovirus was conducted in the developed CQF, and the disinfection kinetics were tested in the range of 0·7-5·0 s at ozone concentration of 0·08 and 0·25 mg l .

Informing users of waterworks systems about the quality of tap water is an obligatory trend. It should be accompanied by studies on the influence of the risk of threats on public health. Waterworks systems, being included in a critical infrastructure of the city, should be subject to special protection in this respect.
