Unlabelled: Paraquat (PQ) has caused deaths of numerous people around the world. In order to assess the lethal plasma concentration, the patients who acquired acute PQ intoxication were analyzed by plasma concentration monitoring. The plasma PQ concentrations were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) which used 5-bromopyrimidine as internal standard and trichloroacetic acid-methanol (1:9) as protein precipitant.

Purpose: To assess the clinical efficacy including of EED methods in the treatment of severe CAP with endogenic intoxication syndrome.
Material And Methods: Severe CAP in patients (n = 103, aged 18-60 years, male 89%) were randomly subdivided into the 4 comparable groups. The 1st group (n = 30) was standard treated with antibiotics.

Biliary stasis can occur in many different diseases. Pruritus, metabolic bone disease, deficiencies of fat-soluble vitamins, steatorrhea, hyperlipidemia and fatigue represent the major extra-hepatic manifestations of cholestatic liver disease that considerably affect the patient's quality of life. The present article reviews pathogenetic and clinical aspects of and current therapeutic approaches to extra-hepatic manifestations of cholestatic liver disease.
