Purpose Of Review: This review aims to explore the clinical significance of atrial fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) uptake observed in positron emission tomography (PET) scans, focusing on its association with atrial fibrillation (AF), cardiac sarcoidosis, and myocarditis. We discuss the implications of atrial uptake for patient management and prognosis.
Recent Findings: Recent studies have demonstrated that atrial FDG uptake is frequently present in patients with AF, particularly those with persistent AF, and is linked to increased risks of stroke and poorer outcomes after ablation.

Purpose Of Review: The role of the lymphatic system in clearing extravasated fluids, lipid transport, and immune surveillance is well established, and lymphatic vasculature can provide a vital role in facilitating crosstalk among various organ systems. Lymphatic vessels rely on intrinsic and local factors to absorb and propel lymph from the interstitium back to the systemic circulation. The biological implications of local influences on lymphatic vessels are underscored by the exquisite sensitivity of these vessels to environmental stimuli.

Background: Pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (CME) following primary anterior-chamber intraocular lens (ACIOL) implantations is commonly seen. Intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide (IVTA) injections have shown significant improvement in visual acuity and retinal thickness in refractory pseudophakic CME. Pseudohypopyon following IVTA injection is a known entity.

Background: In patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), functional complaints frequently persist after the clearing of inflammation and are clinically difficult to distinguish from symptoms of inflammation. In recent years, the influence of bidirectional communication between the gut and brain on gut physiology, emotions, and behavior has been demonstrated.
Research Questions: What mechanisms underlie the development of functional gastrointestinal complaints in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and IBD? What therapeutic approaches arise from this?
Materials And Methods: Narrative review.

Anomalous aortic origin of a coronary artery is a rare congenital heart defect. The detection of anomalous coronary arteries is likely to increase with increased availability and application of cardiac computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Once detected, the recommendation for surgical intervention on anomalous coronary arteries depends upon patient symptoms, the presence or absence of inducible ischemia on stress imaging, and high-risk anatomic features.
