Stress Relaxation Behavior of Azido Propellant Based on BAMO-THF at High Temperatures.

Materials (Basel)

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Polymer Materials Engineering, Polymer Research Institute of Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, China.

The azido propellant, with high energy and low signature, has been a hotpot in the field of propellants. However, the risk of low heat resistance and mechanical performance restricts their range of applications in high-energy formulations. In this study, four azido propellants based on 3,3-bis (azidomethyl) oxetane-tetrahydrofuran copolyether (BAMO-THF) have been prepared, their basic physical properties including energetic properties, internal micro-structure and true density were studied; their tensile properties, dynamic mechanical performances, were investigated, the structure-properties relationship was proposed.

Incorporating mechanical stretching of cells in tissue culture is crucial for mimicking (patho)-physiological conditions and understanding the mechanobiological responses of cells, which can have significant implications in areas like tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Despite the growing interest, most available cell-stretching devices are not compatible with automated live-cell imaging, indispensable for characterizing alterations in the dynamics of various important cellular processes. In this work, StretchView is presented, a multi-axial cell-stretching platform compatible with automated, time-resolved live-cell imaging.

Evaluating Cost-effectiveness and Mixing Efficacy for Elastomeric and Temporary Restorative Material Using Two Mixing Tips: A SEM-EDS Analysis.

J Contemp Dent Pract

September 2024

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, Dental College and Hospital, Pune, Maharashtra, India, ORCID: https://orcid.org/0009-0008-7338-1699.

Aim: This study aimed to compare the mixing efficacy and cost-effectiveness of new T-mixer tips against the standard double helical tips for a light-body elastomeric impression and a temporary/interim restorative material using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

Methodology: Automixed samples ( = 16) were divided into four groups of four samples each: Samples that were mixed with Helical tip for elastomer, T-mixer tip for elastomer, Helical tip for interim restorative material, and T-mixer tip for interim restorative material. These samples were then evaluated for SEM analysis.

In recent years, the search for more sustainable fillers for elastomeric composites than silica and carbon black has been underway. In this work, silanized starch was used as an innovative filler for elastomeric composites. Corn starch was chemically modified by silanization (with n-octadecyltrimethoxysilane) via a condensation reaction to produce a hydrophobic starch.

Objectives: This study aimed to determine how three different energy drink types affected the force decay of three distinct brands of clear, short elastomeric chains over various time intervals.

Materials And Methods: In this study, 600 pieces of clear, short elastomeric chains from three brands were examined. The initial force was measured immediately using a digital scale and after 1, 7, 14, 21, and 28 days.
