The Swedish national guidelines for treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) recommend analysis of measurable residual disease (MRD) by multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) in bone marrow in the routine clinical setting. The Swedish AML registry contains such MRD data in AML patients diagnosed 2011-2019. Of 327 patients with AML (non-APL) with MRD-results reported in complete remission after two courses of intensive chemotherapy 229 were MRD-negative (70%), as defined by <0.1% cells with leukemia-associated immunophenotype in the bone marrow. MRD-results were reported to clinicians in real time. Multivariate statistical analysis adjusted for known established risk factors did not indicate an association between MFC-MRD and overall survival (HR: 1.00 [95% CI 0.61, 1.63]) with a median follow-up of 2.7 years. Knowledge of the importance of MRD status by clinicians and individualized decisions could have ameliorated the effects of MRD as an independent prognostic factor of overall survival.

Background: The goal of this study was to examine the effects of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) on muscle activity during walking after lower-limb amputation. Amputation results in a loss of sensory feedback and alterations in gait biomechanics, including co-contractions of antagonist muscles about the knee and ankle, and reduced pelvic obliquity range-of-motion and pelvic drop. SCS can restore sensation in the missing limb, but its effects on muscle activation and gait biomechanics have not been studied in people with lower-limb amputation.

Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of staged urethroplasty for complex anterior urethral strictures from both surgical and patient-reported outcome perspectives.
Methods: This retrospective study included 100 patients who underwent staged urethroplasty for anterior urethral strictures between May 2011 and June 2023. Anatomical success was defined as the ability to pass cystourethroscopy without resistance and the patient's ability to void without additional interventions.

Objectives: To evaluate the surgical and patient-reported outcomes of YV-plasty in patients with refractory bladder neck stenosis (BNS) following transurethral prostate surgery.
Methods: This retrospective study reviewed five patients who underwent YV-plasty for BNS between January 2021 and October 2023. The surgical procedure involved a midline lower abdominal incision to expose the bladder neck.

Objective: To establish a murine model of chemotherapy-induced diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) and investigate residual fertility after chemotherapy exposure.
Design: Two different chemotherapy protocols were tested to establish a valid DOR model by comparing follicle densities in mice given either protocol versus physiological solution. An ovarian stimulation protocol was then selected from among different gonadotropins by counting the number of day-2 embryos obtained from normal mice.

Additively manufactured drug products, typically produced using small-scale, on-demand batch mode, require rapid and non-destructive quantification methods. A tunable modular design (TMD) approach combining porous polymeric freeze-dried modules and an additive manufacturing method, inkjet printing, was proposed in an earlier study to fabricate accurate and patient-tailored doses of an antidepressant citalopram hydrobromide. This approach addresses the unmet medical needs associated with antidepressant tapering.
